You can get lucky at a particular time in life, especially if you’re not a well-grounded entrepreneur.
But if you’re truly grounded in a diverse set of online skills, then you can be lucky all the time.
There was a time I used to dominate in local e-commerce, specifically in the high blood pressure and diabetes niche.
I was averaging over 2-5 million naira in sales daily, and that was possible because my products were all high-ticket. I had partnership deals with several MLM companies where I would take their products, upgrade the packaging, and present them as a premium offer to customers.
Sales were booming, I remember doing about 20 million in sales in just one week. It was crazy!
This was only possible because Facebook allowed my creative ads to run. FB algorithm is usually strict about mentioning illnesses like diabetes in ads.
If you use words like “diabetes” or “low sugar,” or anything that directly mentions the illness, Facebook will often either close your account or ban your Business Manager from their platform.
I was really lucky back then. I had a variety of treatment plans on my sales page, and the list combo package was going for 220K. So trust me when I say we did impressive numbers.
I’m sharing all this to make one point: if you’re lucky enough to find something that works for you, or if you happen to win big with your strategy, never feel invincible. I was relaxed back then, thinking I had it all figured out until that same approach stopped working.
I still have friends doing incredibly well in the game, but I had to shift to a different level of local e-commerce that complies with Facebook’s algorithm.
E-commerce is indeed a money-maker, especially if you know what you’re doing.
